Challenge

The client is a leading organization in the UK financial and professional services industry. The enterprise needed help transitioning advisors to the BlackRock Aladdin platform, which required pulling and integrating data from multiple sources. To ensure that all data extracts met BlackRock solution requirements, complex data ingestion and processing from various systems would be required.

Beyond the integration, the client also needed to deepen its understanding of client behavior to stay competitive. This meant going beyond static dashboards and historical reporting. Client leadership needed real-time, predictive client sentiment analysis to help advisors proactively engage clients, reduce churn risk, and identify emerging needs across investment portfolios.

Solution

Hakkoda partnered with the client’s internal team to design and implement a Snowflake-based data platform purpose-built for integration with Aladdin. This process included automating and encrypting data extracts to ensure a smooth integration process, enabling the client to leverage the full capabilities of the Aladdin platform within a tight, 4-month timeframe.

The resulting platform included 45 automated, daily data extract files built using Azure Data Factory and dbt, ensuring both encryption and compatibility with Aladdin’s specifications. Beyond integration, Hakkoda worked directly with the CIO, COO, and investment managers to leverage the new platform for advanced analytics. This enabled insights into assets under management (AUM), share of wallet, and vertical-specific growth opportunities.

Using Snowflake and AI-driven models, Hakkoda developed a solution for monitoring client sentiment, recommending next-best actions, and identifying cross-sell opportunities. This solution helped the client push beyond a compliance-driven transformation and turn their data modernization initiative into a strategic growth lever.
