Challenge

The client, a leading full-service marketing agency, delivers customized performance strategies to hundreds of clients in its portfolio. At the core of their approach is a proprietary technology platform that analyzes a company’s digital ecosystem using multiple first-party data sources to develop informed, tailored marketing plans.

When they started working with Hakkoda, the client had a manual process in place for the onboarding of new clients.This process was largely done manually and took roughly three weeks to complete. Silos and communication breakdowns within the organization also made it difficult to streamline this process.

Solution

Together with Hakkoda, the client developed a customer data platform (CDP) with end-to-end automation of the client infrastructure creation process. This platform eliminated the need for manual interventions, and cut the total onboarding time down from a matter of days or weeks to just 7 minutes.

The CDP solution leveraged Fivetran SaaS for data ingestion, dbt core for transformation, and Snowflake as the primary data cloud platform. Hakkoda collaborated closely with the customer, combining our expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, Snowflake infrastructure, and the modern data stack with the client’s expertise in transforming ingested data into actionable insights for their internal teams and clients.

Hakkoda was able to take the project from the concept phase to implementation in 3 months. 2 months after the go-live date, the solution had been scaled up to support 400 clients.
